Join the Journey: 2024 – Navigating Image Accessibility

The North Carolina Higher Ed Digital Accessibility Collaborative invites you to Join the Journey: 2024 – Navigating Image Accessibility. The conference is a free professional development opportunity to learn about digital accessibility. It is open to everyone in higher education in North Carolina, including accessibility novices and those with more accessibility experience. Each session can be attended individually, or you can join us all day.

Agenda

9 am – 9:50 am – Keynote by the Office of Civil Rights
10 am – 10:50 am – Office of Civil Rights presents on new ADA Regulations requiring accessible web content
11 am – 12 pm What is image accessibility
12 – 1 pm – Lunch break!
1 pm – 1:50 pm – Alt text basics
2 pm – 2:50 pm – Complex Images including Data Visualization Basics
3 pm – 4 pm – Virtual alt text demos in popular platforms like WordPress, Canvas, Blackboard, MS Word, etc.
